  • In 2008-09, 38.0% of all Franklin County students (72,527) were eligible for free or reduced-price lunches compared to 30.0% in the 1999-00 school year. The Franklin County rate is higher than the overall Ohio rate of 40.2% in the 2008-09 school year..
  • Four Franklin County School districts (Columbus, Whitehall, Hamilton,and Groveport) were above the state average for percentage of students eligible for free or reduced price lunches. The same four districts had students’ median household incomes less than the state average.
