The following are key points from the data in the tables and graphs found on the “Data” tab. The “Sources and Notes” tab provides additional information about the data.

  • In the 2008-09 school year, students in Columbus City Schools had passage rates of 76.6%, 67.9%, and 54.9% on Ohio Graduation Tests (OGT) for reading, math, and science respectively, compared with 84.5%, 81.4%, and 76.0% for students statewide.
  • In Franklin County, 21 schools surpassed the state average in reading OGT passage rates, 22 schools surpassed the state average for math, and 20 surpassed the state average for science.
  • At 98.8%, Grandview Heights had the highest reading OGT passage rate in Franklin County. Upper Arlington had the highest math OGT passage rate (98.4%), while Bexley had the highest science OGT passage rate (98.9%).
