The following are key points from the data in the tables and graphs found on the “Data” tab. The “Sources and Notes” tab provides additional information about the data.

  • ADAMH staff estimated in 2009 that 85,456 persons in Franklin County required ADAMH services to address mental/addictive disorders. ADAMH was able to serve 42,828 of those eligible for its services, for an overall penetration rate of 50.1%.
  • Penetration rates for mental/addictive disorders varied by age and illness among persons served by ADAMH in 2009, from a high of 86.5% for adult Alcohol and Other Drug services to a low of 31.1% for services for Severely Mentally Disabled (SMD) adults).
  • ADAMH consumers varied by race in 2009. White clients comprised 55.3% of total ADAMH consumers, while blacks comprised 38.4% of clients.
