- Based on median age, the Columbus population in 2008 was younger than the populations of Franklin County, Ohio, and the U.S. Against these three comparison areas, Columbus also has a greater percentage of persons under age 10 (15.2%), age 18 to 24 (12.3%), and age 25-44 (32.2%).
- The population of Franklin County is aging, with a 2008 median age (34.6) that is over 2 years greater than in 2000 and nearly 4 years greater than in 1990.
