  • Total admissions to the Franklin County juvenile detention center in 2008 were 1,095 persons fewer than total admissions in 2000, a 15.6% decrease.
  • In 2008, the percentage of Franklin County juvenile detention center admissions who were black (70.4%) is more than two and half times the proportion of blacks in the general youth population (23.7%).  Conversely, white youths represent about one quarter (24.0%) of JDC admissions and 66.0% of the overall youth population.
